Football Apprenticeship Schemes

Maidments have been instructed by one of a number of individuals who have been made the subject of a SFO investigation into suspected fraud surrounding football based apprenticeship schemes financed by the Skills Funding Agency.  The investigation commenced with officers from four Police Forces in Gwent, Greater Manchester, South Wales and Merseyside conducting searches of homes and business premises.   The investigation centres on the dealings of Luis Michael Training Limited and relates to the apprenticeship schemes and NQC programmes for young people working in community sport.

Two young teen male soccer players compete against each other in a game. Full figure, live action shot.

The allegation centres on fraudulent trading, false accounting and forgery, with the assertion that false documentation relative to the schemes has been utilised which has led to the payment of monies for apprentices enrolled in the scheme.

It is anticipated that this enquiry will take a considerable time to be resolved, and that further arrests may be made.  Anyone who considers they may be the subject of this investigation should immediately seek representation from us.
